Memories of an "India Week" with handicapped children and youths A weeklong programme was planned for the Centre de pédagogie curative du Jura Bernois (CPCJB Tavannes, Switzerland) from 19 to 24 June 2006 in collaboration with Manuela Randegger (art therapist). All of the home's youngsters participated in daily workshops together with their teachers and guardians. Musical activities were supplemented by dance, yoga and Kolam floor drawing classes with the assistance of several other experts. Special videos from India were also screened.
The India Week was based on exercises and concepts developed in the course of the research project titled "Sam, Reflection, Gathering Together!". Special requests and suggestions of the institution's pedagogues were taken into consideration in order to enable children with severe or multiple disabilities to actively participate. As can be seen in the following pictures, they did so with total abandonment and even presented a final programme to which their families were invited.
