About the poet Kunjunni Master (1927 - 2006) is widely remembered for his aphoristic and at times humorous way of expressing wisdom for everyday living through poetry. As school master and poet he devoted himself to making children enjoy their studies. In this manner he encouraged the inhabitants of Kerala, already high on the ladder of literacy, to cultivate their appreciation of poetry all life long and pass this gift on to the next generation.
